How can I import trades by copying and pasting them?

Copy to clipboard

If you cannot download a file from your platform but you can copy your fills, paste them straight into TraderSync.

  1. In your broker or platform, select the rows of trades you want and copy them (Ctrl+C, or Cmd+C on a Mac). The Tutorial panel for your broker may show where to copy from.
  2. In TraderSync, go to the Accounts page and click the + icon on the row of the account that should receive the trades. For a new account, click Add New Account and choose your broker instead.
  3. Open the File Upload tab.
  4. Choose the Date Format that matches the dates you copied.
  5. Click the Copy Paste box and paste the trades (Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac), one execution per line.
  6. Click Import. A message tells you how many new trades were imported.

The Copy Paste box only appears for brokers that support pasting, such as E*TRADE. Other brokers show only the file upload. Do not import the same trades twice by mixing the paste and file methods, because that can create duplicates. To take an import back, see How can I undo my last imported trades?
