Practise entries and exits without risking a cent: Market Replay has a simulated account where you can place, change, cancel and close orders.
- Open Market Replay and pick a symbol. In the Place Order widget, choose Buy or Sell. If you do not see the widget, turn on Place Order in the widgets menu at the top right.
- Pick an order type: Market fills at the current price, Limit waits for the price you enter, Stop Loss and Stop use a trigger price.
- Type your quantity (and the price or trigger price for the other types). Optionally use the Take Profit and Stop Loss switches to attach a target and a stop. Then click the blue button, for example Buy 50 AAPL for … MKT.
- Watch your order below the chart. Positions lists what you hold with its unrealized P/L, Orders lists every order and its status (for example Working, Filled or Cancelled), and Closed Positions lists finished trades with their realized P/L. The Order Lines chart setting (widgets menu) shows working orders on the chart.
- To change a working order, open Orders and click the pencil icon on its row. Edit the shares, price, Take Profit or Stop Loss in the Modify window and click Replace.
- To cancel a working order, click the X on its row.
- To close one position, click the X on its row in Positions; it sends an offsetting market order. To close everything, click the X in the header of that column to flatten all positions.
- To start over, click the balance figures next to the tabs, choose Reset account trades and confirm. This only clears your simulated replay orders and positions.
Tip: you can also place and flatten with hotkeys. See how to customize hotkeys in Market Replay.
