TraderSync closes expired options contracts for you, so an option that has expired does not stay open. You choose the price it closes at, or switch the automatic close off and close expired trades yourself.
- Click the Settings gear at the bottom left of the side navigation.
- Under Data & Trades, click Trades.
- Scroll down to Auto Expire Options Contracts.
- Use the switch to turn automatic expiration on or off. Turn it off if you prefer to close expired trades manually.
- While it is on, choose how expired contracts are closed:
- Expire Worthless: the contract is closed as worthless, at zero.
- Expire In The Money: the contract is closed at its value instead of zero.
Expired options are closed automatically two business days after the expiration date, because TraderSync waits for the contract price to settle. TraderSync can only track expiration data that your broker sends, and not every broker sends it. There is no Save button: your choices are saved as soon as you click them.
