What do metrics like profit factor and win % mean in my reports?

Add a metric such as Profit Factor to any report chart, and learn what it tells you about each bar.

  1. Click Reports, expand Trade and open Hourly (any report works the same way).
  2. Click the + next to the PNL metric menu above the chart to open the Metrics window.
  3. Type in Search metrics, for example profit factor, and tick the metric.
  4. Click Apply. The metric appears as a line over the bars, with a chip above the chart; click the x on the chip to remove it.
  5. Hover a bar to read the PnL and the metric side by side. In the 2022 data, 14:00 made the most money but its Profit Factor is 1.00, while 22:00 made a small profit with a Profit Factor of 3.32.

Profit Factor is your gross profit divided by your gross loss: above 1 you win more than you lose, and 3 means every dollar lost was matched by three dollars won. Win % is the share of your winning and losing trades that were winners; breakeven trades are not counted. Avg PnL $ is the average result per trade. The + at the right end of the table header opens the same window for the table columns.
